North Broward Hospital District Presents |
BCAA GAME OF THE WEEK |
HOLLYWOOD HILLS - 35 |
SOUTH PLANTATION - 7 |
Balloons displayed South Plantations’ colors as an excited homecoming crowd came to watch what they thought would be the clash of the titans. The opening kickoff was full of contact and the sounds of big hits. The intensity soon subsided for South Plantation as the powerful Hollywood Hills offense took control of the game.
Led by their Sun Sentinel Super 11 quarterback, Paul McCall; fullback, Jason Clark; and receiver, Sanchez Anderson the Spartans had the Paladins reeling as they scored 28 unanswered points to take a 28-0 lead into halftime. Jason Clark scored three touchdowns in the first half on runs of 41, 16, and 2 yards. When Jason Clark and Deon Lewis weren’t carrying the ball for the Spartans, Paul McCall was throwing precision passes to his talented receiver Sanchez Anderson. Paul and Sanchez connected twice for 39 and 19 yard touchdowns.
Clark finished the night with 124 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns, while Anderson had 4 receptions for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns. McCall completed 7 of 10 passes for 101 yards.
The Paladins had a few knightly heroics of their own late in the fourth quarter as running back Darius Carlton broke several tackles and ran for 63 yards down to the Hills’ 18 yard line and then scored four plays later from 1 yard out. Justin Young then recovered the ensuing onside kick for South Plantation at the 36 yard line of Hills with 2:24 remaining in the game, but was unable to score as time expired.
