Jim Matheson, Head Coach of the Piper Bengals, has coached a lot of football in his time.  But nothing prepared him for the Colonel onslaught at PAL Stadium.  At the end of the first quarter, the Colonels led 21-0 and at half time the lead was increased to 35-0.  Coach Matheson will certainly put this loss in the vault and use it as inspiration for next year's District 8-6A rematch.

Last year the Colonels and Bengals played toe to toe, creating a new and exciting rivalry.  However, Plantation QB Antwan Young threw four touchdown passes, including a 60-yard strike to Cedric McGee.  Young connected on 8 of 14 passes for 234 yards…shades of Ryan Schneider, the former Colonel passing great who played at UCF.  After four games, Antwan Young has completed 34-50 passes including a BCAA leading 13 touchdowns.  The Colonels moved to 4-0 and clearly demonstrated their elite status in the BCAA.

Plantation has crushed their opposition to date.  The Colonels have scored 55, 41, 45 and 50 points in their first four games.  It appears the only team waiting to challenge the Colonels is the upstart Boyd Anderson Cobras, who are also 4-0 at this time.  The Cobras and the Colonels will match up on October 15, 2004.
