With 3:38 left in the second quarter, the Cypress Bay Lightning found themselves down 21-10 to the Flanagan Falcons. The Falcon offensive line was controlling the line of scrimmage. Flanagan running back Lecorey Roby, Rashad Stubbs and Tyrone Lowe were running with ease. The game appeared in the hands of the Falcons.

However, the Lightning scored fourteen points in the final three minutes of the second quarter to turn the game around. With time running out in the second quarter, QB Alan Lickstein threw a 29-yard pass to Geavon Tribble (#80) to give the Lightning a 24-21 half time lead. The shocked Falcons never recovered.

The Falcons fumbled on the opening kickoff of the second half. The Lightning took advantage of the turnover and scored on a sixteen-yard pass from Lickstein to Scott Urbanek (#25). The Lightning went into the fourth quarter leading 31-21.
Flanagan cut the Lightning lead to three with 2:00 minutes left in the game. The Falcons scored on a ten-yard run from Greg Louissant. To the delight of Lightning Head Coach Billy Hobbs, the Lightning controlled the final minutes of the game behind the strong running of Kenny Mantuo (#25). The Lightning sealed the game in the final seconds on a forty-three yard run by Chris Triana (#22).

The Lightning demonstrated a balanced offensive attack. QB Adam Lickstein was 14-27 with no interceptions for 133 yards. Running backs Chris Triana and Kenny Mantuo combined for 200 yards on the ground. The Lightning moved to 3-0 with the victory.
